Scotch Dry Erase Tape

This Scotch Dry Erase Tape could be used as a quick formative assessment in the classroom or name tags!
A teacher at a workshop this summer gave me a tip she used in the classroom. She had kids pick sticks as they walked in the room in the morning.  The sticks were the table number that they would sit at for the day. She said constantly changing where you sit helped with classroom management.  I'm not sure if I would do this all year long but I could see if for the first couple weeks of school.  They could use the Scotch dry erase tape as a name tag since they would be changing everyday. I definitely have to think of this idea over the summer.   What do you think of this idea?

  1. That's really cool! I ordered a dry erase film that uses static cling to adhere to my chalkboard and to my doors. I've been able to utilize more of my room for writing space.

  2. I kind of like the idea of giving them new seating spots using the tape. This past year, I let them pick new spots each Monday. By the end of the week, they were either really comfortable with each other or starting to get on each other's nerves. :)

  3. I love this idea. I had numbers taped to desks at the beginning of the year, but my 7th graders have a habit of picking at them during class. Thus, they were gone mid-year. Im wondering if this would be more effective, or if they'd just pick at these, too. Also, with 5 classes, I'm wondering if I'd need 5 pieces of tape, or if there's a creative way to use it for many names!
